FINDING MY PURPOSE THRU CANCER…

2017 When I was diagnosed with incurable blood #Cancer the first question I asked was “Am I going to die?” the next question was “How long before I lose my hair?” I remember crying with my mom feeling sad & anxiety over my soon to be reality. Chemotherapy is a take-no-prisoners stylist. The thing that no one tells you when you lose your hair during chemo is that it doesn't happen all at once. The first evidence that mine was falling out appeared on my pillow. Then, over the next few days, it started to come out in clumps. Finally, when only a few patches of hair were left on my head, I shaved the rest off.

Within a few weeks, I could no longer recognize the person staring back at me in the mirror. I remember trying on wigs and thinking to myself this looks stupid, I look sick; It doesn’t look right; it’s not me,’ I’m so ugly.

See #Cancer stripped me of everything that kept me small, that kept me distracted from loving myself, distracted from my calling, my purpose in life. My hair, my money, men, vanity, my body, vacations, closets full of designer every, homes, friendships, my own ego. EVERYTHING GONE in the blink of an eye.

Once everything was taken from me and nothing was left but skin barley hanging on my bones & my will to live It was then that I realized how strong, beautiful, special and unique I was and life changed forever! Whatever you’re going thru KEEP GOING.

Trust me when I say “If you saw the size of the BLESSING YOU ARE BECOMING, you would understand the magnitude of the battle you are fighting.”

L🤎VE YOURSELF and don’t be ashamed of your story, it will inspire others. •
